The wife wasn’t happy when we passed a Thing in Houston several years ago.

Can't use the same bug the same day. In fact, if one is always in the same spot you pass frequently, you can't use it. That's not the spirit of the game. It's the spontaneity of seeing them that makes the game.

I've never heard the term slug bug. The proper terminology is punch bug. Slug bug sounds like something New Orleans made up, like saying brake tag instead of inspection sticker.
Game definitely resets after exit and reentry of the vehicle. Also, you better call no returns so you don't get punched back in retaliation.

This is the way.
There are a couple of bugs that stay in the neighborhood. Those are off limits. Anything on the road is fair game, even if you think it may be one you've seen earlier.
