I was just offered a job in Kingwood. We currently live in Lake Charles and are entertaining the idea of moving. The SOs parents currently live in Kingwood.

What are the pros and cons of the area?

Are there any good areas north of Kingwood? We would be looking for 10-15 acres. I know New Caney and Porter are pretty methy.

TIA

It's better than LC, the only bad thing is it's in Texas.

Absolutely NOT.

I'm not even trying to be a dick. From north of Kingwood drive all the way to Cleveland. Is trashy. You WILL find some good old back home decent country folk. But they are surrounded by trash.

It is as bad as any place in LA that people call Da Parrish.

I'm not kidding.

The little pocket of Kingwood that is Kingwood is nice but isolated.

The woodlands is better.

ETA just saw you are looking for 10-15 acres. Somebody else will have to chime in as to how far north OP would have to go to get away from meth AND afford it.

10-15 acres anywhere within an hour of Houston that is anywhere but East is probably economically unsound.

If you are moving to Kingwood, you can scratch the 10-15 acres. For that kind of land, you need to broaden the search to include Splendora, Livingston, and maybe across the lake over near Huffman/Dayton.

All of these places are basically going to take away all the pros of living in Kingwood like good schools, shopping, people, etc...

Yeah they probably have at least 10 locations in Houston now, but for some reason the closest Cane's to Kingwood was the Woodlands. I love some Cane's, but not that much

Fact. Going to the Porter Walmart is like teleporting back to Opelousas.
