For whatever reason, my sister-in-law to be hates me. See, I'm an introvert and can be very quiet and reserved when I'm around people. But, when I get comfortable with a person, I crack jokes about the person. I never try to be mean, but I guess she saw it as a slight against her. So, the next few times I saw her, I kept to myself and only talked to her when she talked to me. The last time we interacted was at her house. My fiancee and I had been traveling all day and I just wanted to go home, but she wanted to see her sister's new baby. So we went over, and I didn't talk much, just sat in the living room until my fiancee was done visiting with the baby and her sister. The next day, my fiancee gets a text from her sister saying it was disrespectful that I didn't talk that much to her and her husband and that I didn't shake her husband's hand when I entered the house. She also stated that my fiancee should apologize for my actions and if she didn't, my sister-in-law to be wouldn't take part in our wedding. I've been to her house multiple times and this is the first time she mentions the hand shaking thing. And I know my quietness can be seen as disrespectful, but that is just who I am. My fiancee says her sister is a bully and a crappy person and only does these things because she can and probably won't back down from this until she gets her way. Sorry for the long post, but for those that did read it, any advice?

Just to be clear, she did or did not breastfeed in front of you?

You don't shake hands with the man of the house when you enter it?

Who in the hell raised you?

Also, these are going to be permanent fixtures in your life. Wouldn't it be of good idea to get to know them?

Dear diary.

deal breaker. shake the man's hand.. and look him in the eye.

My fiancee says her sister is a bully and a crappy person

if she didn't, my sister-in-law to be wouldn't take part in our wedding.

Leaving everything else aside...

You can't argue with the irrational. Assuming your fiancé wants her at the wedding just say you're sorry and it wasn't your intention.

Wasting time with idiots is a waste of time. You can cut her out later if need be.

I'm gonna stop you right there. The type of people who think they are special for being an "introvert" are usual shitty people. Be less shitty.

Learn to be more social. You can be introverted and still say proper hellos. You sound pretty miserable to be around.

Introvert or not, when you enter a man's house put your extend your damn hand and shake his. Look, I don't like my in-laws, but you know what I suck it up and slap a grin on my face and laugh at all their stupid stories they tell about growing up like it was the first damn time I heard it. Unless you live next door you really arent going to see them that often, so its best that you put on your game face whenever you go over there. Believe me or not, but one day, maybe not tomorrow or the next, but one day you will need their help, and if you just play the damn game, they will be there for you when you do need their help.

Unbuckle your pants. Slide them off gently. Remove your boxer briefs. Bend at the waist as if to touch your toes. Now, begin trying to kiss your arse good bye.

That sister in law owns you now. You left the car unlocked and now she is going to hijack it and hold your fiancé captive until you meet her demands.

Quit being an a-hole and just fake it while at their house. Then talk shite about them behind their back when you leave.

It's been days since he's said anything and he had to get it all out. You see, he's comfortable here with his friends.

Sounds like your fiancee has it covered. Tell her do not apologize.

This.

I have been with my wife for 31 years (married 26) and I still shake her father's and her brothers' hands when I meet them out, or go to their homes.
