We are gonna be there today around 1 and stay until dark.
I've been to the bayou about 10 times but never made it to FQ so we organized a trip that's too far progressed to back out of today.
Is this going to be the worst experience of all time? What should I expect?
I don't mind the movement, just wondering if we will be able to have drinks without cocks dancing around us

When you've gone too far down Bourbon head toward Decatur and go to Molly's at the Market.

if you’re so afraid of gay people I would avoid the quarter at any time of year.

What causes people to add an unnecessary s to the end of everything around here?

I mean there is nothing subtle about “pride” festivities. Now combine that with the usual debauchery that you have on Bourbon St. Does this answer your question?

Just bring the kids to the D-Day museum and hang out in the warehouse district. It would be best for everyone.

ETA: To answer the above poster, for some reason a lot of locals (mainly AA) refer to the French Quarter and the quarters. Not really sure why.

Dude. It’s just gays. You are fine. May not be kid friendly but honestly it should be some damn good people watching.

They act like animals for that and then demand respect. I wouldn’t be anywhere around that garbage.

Just stay off Bourbon and things will be fine. Hell thats always a pretty good idea.
Go to the Marigny, Warehouse District, Magazine St Uptown, Oak Street. There are good bars and restaurants all over.

I wouldn’t suggest being at the lower end of the quarter around 4:00 today if you are easily offended. It’s naked bike ride day so you will see a few hundred generally ugly people on bikes with no clothes

And this isn’t as bad and as big as Decadence weekend. You could still hang on other streets in the quarter and be fine

I'm down in Raceland with a buddy. He and his family have been here for generations. Not AA
They have called it bourbon, FQ and the quarters. Mainly using FQ
