I've seen people go the wrong way and completely blow through the Yield signs before.

Houma suffers from the same thing BR does in that it doesn't do any infrastructure improvements until AFTER private investments are made. IE Hollywood Road. That little stretch btwn Tunnel and 311 has needed widening since the mid 80s and only now is it getting done.
Its terribly inconvenient when I'm trying to get a hair cut at Barry's and I have to dick with all that congestion.

When I worked on Hollywood in the 90s it was fine. Probably about 15 years behind when it should have been done. 311 needs to be widened next.

I was told that the reason it was taking so long down there was because they came across all sorts of utility lines that they had no idea what they belonged to. Like live gas lines that no-one had any clue what they were for . Could have been a rumor, but pretty funny to think how poorly that town has been planned over time.

He's a Scott man. Wouldn't work. He would probably protest playing at Nunus on account of Scott stealing and crowning themselves the Boudin Capital. Everybody knows Nunus has the best boudin.

Wayne Toups would bring the party: Zydecajun, cocaine, curly mullets, roundabouts, boudin, and soccer moms

Nothing can be as awesome as this 30+ Acre waste of space!

When the State had public meetings to 4 lane 311 the landowners threw a hissy that there may be road expansion on the state owned right of way. "not in my front yard!"

I've always been amazed that one particular street has 4 different names (5 if you count Bayou Gardens)

Does it have something to do with the separation of Parish and city?

On 311? Because they can't give up a little bit of their massive yards?

311 is a total shite show around 5 pm between Hollywood and Savanne. Thankfully Valhi extension is there.

Roundabouts are awesome.

How much people suck at roundabouts is miserable.

This.

Everybody should do this: Went to England in '93 and rented a car. Try navigating a roundabout on the other side of the road. A real brain-stretcher.

For those complaining about 311 not being widened to 4, you do realize the state plan instead calls for multiple roundabouts the entire course of 311.(8-10 iirc). Pretty much one at the entrance to each subdivision.
Imagine that cluster!
Also, traffic should be eased sometime as new parish pres is pushing valhi to be opened all the way to hwy 90 which would parallel 311, and he has given green light to run Hollywood all the way to bayou black near gym..

Not sure why people hate roundabouts

Roundabouts are great when all of the roads coming in are 1 or 2 lane roads. Any more lanes than that and they go from super-efficient to clusterf&%k. Also, they can't be used in areas with heavy 18-wheeler traffic without making them ridiculously massive because otherwise the 18-wheelers have to stop and backup in order to get through them.

They work great by Fred's in Port Vincent, but it would work poorly on Highway 30 by Tanger and I-10 with all of the 18-wheelers coming out of the plants.

Last week I saw someone come to a dead stop out of pure confusion.

Happens hourly in Hammond at the 3 back to back they have. I'm not sure which idiotic city planner thought putting 3 in succession was a good idea, but those damn Hammondites have a HARD time navigating them successfully.
