So much for back the blue.

A sheriff is escorting kids on a bus back from a state championship game. He is stopped by a trooper who is full of attitude. (The sound doesn't come on until 2:25)

What a prick trooper.

Here’s a dash cam video of a Florida Highway Patrol Officer who pulls over a SUV with police lights running inside. Once he gets the individual over and starts talking with him the driver identifies himself as a Florida Sheriff and shows the proper credentials. It’s here that we can finally hear the two argue about who’s in the right. The FHP maintains that he’s got some suspicious reason to keep questioning the sheriff while the sheriff maintains that he was simply escorting a school bus returning from a baseball tournament. At any rate, one of these two sides is horribly wrong about what they’re doing and refuses to relent!

I understand why he pulled him over, but c'mon I see out of parish deputies doing this with their busses all the time.

That trooper was just a prick.

Like the sheriff said "I'm surprised you didn't draw down on me"

There are proper ways to go about this...Call ahead, make plans with the Parishes/State accordingly...

You can't just drive through a town that you have no jurisdiction in, flashing you lights and abusing your power

Could the Trooper have handled it better yes...

c'mon man..

They all do this.

Trooper was being a prick. Sheriff even showed his credentials and the trooper said he didn't.

"you know how many people I arrested for impersonating an officer?" really?

That trooper is the kind of officer that makes problems.

I agree with that

quote:

Sheriff even showed his credentials and the trooper said he didn't.

He also said he had been at a Football, Baseball, Softball game..

He's lucky it didn't go into a field sobriety from there..

"you know how many people I arrested for impersonating an officer?" really?

Plenty of crimes are committed using cars that just have flashing lights and the occupant is impersonating an officer..

That trooper is the kind of officer that makes problems.

He did his job, and in the world we currently live in, it will be picked apart by the person who was in the wrong

there was at first.

You see it in the frame when the cop starts to pull him over.

Look, I too think it's wrong to misuses the lights, but that attitude of the trooper is a HUGE reason why normal people hate the police.

Real question - why exactly do sports teams traveling in buses require police escort these days? If the band bus falls behind the tea, bus by 5 minutes is that the end of the world?

I've never understood this and never will.

I was part of a LSU bus trip escort my Louisiana State police. Somewhere in Tennessee and driver wouldn't get out of the left-hand lane of the interstate. Trooper flipped his lights on until he moved over

odds are that Buford T. Pusser is one of the 9 coaches on the team and is taking his liberties with his duty vehicle while he is off duty

They don't and I have no problem with the sheriff getting pulled over. My issue is with the attitude of the trooper.

I do hope the Major called him and reamed him.

Welp, maybe the trooper was the good cop.

quote:

Sheriff Reinstated After Jury Acquits

quote:

Gov. Rick Scott is reinstating Liberty County Sheriff Nick Finch to his job after a jury acquitted him of official misconduct and falsifying public records.

Scott issued an executive order on Thursday just a few hours after the acquittal.

Scott's order says the reinstatement takes effect immediately. He thanked jury members in a statement.

Finch was arrested in June after prosecutors insisted he had destroyed official records related to the March arrest of Floyd Eugene Parrish. Parrish was arrested for carrying a pistol in his pocket without a concealed weapons permit but Finch let him out of jail.

Finch said he released Parrish because he did not believe state gun laws should trump the Second Amendment. He also denied destroying any records.

Just a good ol boy...
