Police drop charges- only after body cam film leaked

A shorter cell phone video was discussed here.
Highlights:
- Woman called Police after man choked her son for allegedly not picking up a piece of paper
- cop immediately blames woman for not teaching her child to not litter
- she objects and of course is arrested for "resisting arrest"
- daughter is arrested and cop clearly holds her handcuffed hands and arms in a painful position because she is not giving him his name
- Cop writes bogus report to support his version, knowing full well his body
- no charges for the choker until the body cam video was leaked
- she gon get paid
So the police department had this body cam video for a month. But they do not clear her of charges until the video is actually secretly Leaked to her attorney .
And what's the punishment for the cop? He won't return to that neighborhood when he returns to work.
Of course I will add that there were people here who blamed the woman.
Right. Only after the video was leaked.

fort Worth Police have dropped the charges against the mother and daughter seen in a viral video being arrested last month. Cell phone video of the arrests of Jacqueline Craig and her teen daughter spread online in December. Craig had called Fort Worth Police to report that a man had choked her 7-year-old son.
An argument escalated between Craig and Officer William Martin, who eventually pulled out his Taser and put Craig, her daughter Brea Hymond and a third female in custody. Craig, 46, and Hymond, 19, each faced charges of resisting arrest search or transport. Those charges were dropped Thursday, over a month later. “We’re an agency that believes in procedural justice. And with procedural justice, everything doesn’t happen overnight,” Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald said Thursday. “This decision didn’t happen in a vacuum. My decision to pull back these charges was something that I thought was right, something that we owed the community and the Craig family in particular.”
Right. Only after the video was leaked.

You got one here. Bask in it, my friend. Enjoy your day.
This one always blows my mind. Any good lawyer should crush that at trial though.

Ladies and gentlemen, our latest lotto winner is Jacqueline Craig & her daughter Brea Hymond thanks to the Fort Worth PD.

Great in theory, but lawyers cost money and the officer making the wrongful arrest isn't gonna pay those fees. The end result is a citizen loses a few days of their life and several thousands of dollars for the cop's mistake with no repercussions for the officer.
Take race out of the equation (I know tough to do with the OP) and we still need better oversight for cops and a more citizen-friendly legal industry.
