I'm buying the biggest, saltiest, butteryest box of popcorn I can find for the day the verdict is announced. Cops are gonna get off and it's gonna be 4th of July on steroids.

This will probably piss off all sides but it’s clear from this video and others that a major issue is thrusting police in situations/conflicts for which they are not equipped to handle.

I’m sorry but if you’re pulling out your gun and pointing it at the guy in that situation then you are framing the frick out. So now you have two people freaking out and scared about what the other one will do (and reinforced by lots of previous negative experience both ways) and you get a predictable result.

Lot of truth in here, this shouldn’t piss anybody off.

Rinse and repeat. Will keep happening as long as both extremes just keep screaming and denigrating instead of solving the fricking problem.

Doesn't piss me off and I don't disagree, but more than likely the cops ran the tag before approaching the SUV and they knew they were dealing with a felon. Id assume that would be common practice tbh. Especially since the cops were called for an incident.

You can even hear the female passenger telling Floyd to stop resisting at the 1:49 mark.

I'm not going to comment on whether or not the cops murdered Floyd. But the guy was obviously very high. Imagine all of the pain, suffering, and damage we could have avoided if he'd just sat his fricking arse in the back of the cop car.

But now the country is tearing itself apart because of a man - with a rap sheet a mile long (which includes threatening a pregnant woman with a gun) - who was doped up, resisted the police, and unfortunately died in the encounter.

Whether or not the cops killed this guy, Mr. Floyd seems to share a part of the blame in his death.

Look up Dave Grossman and go from there. Some departments have the "us vs. them" mentality pumped into them, it's ingrained in the training. They are conditioned to feel like warriors going into battle every day.

It's the Law of the Instrument in policing. If your only tool is a hammer...

Was this ever verified as true, and if so, what were the circumstances behind that?

My comment was meant generally in response to someone noting he had covid contributing to his breathing issue. Frankly, we should all be pretty cool with ideas like adjusting police technique with situational awareness was my primary point there.

Pretty sure BLM and antifada ruined all races and citizens being cool with this being motivation to adjust police techniques. Riots causing more black deaths than police on top of everything thing else, only allowed to say black lives matter (and not even all black lives to include the far majority of black lives taken by violence or abortion), demonizing white people, acting like thugs with individual responsibility and self control becoming a racist idea, and so on while more blacks continue to die by hand of other blacks with zero freaks given by black lives matter and antifada become the message.

If they wanted true change and togetherness they should have gathered up all families of people killed by police regardless of race and walked hand in hand in peaceful protest to state legislatures and Congress pushing for reform that may helped all of them have their day in court. Not to forget the country already trying to overcome Wuhan and shutdowns together that had this been done right could have brought everyone together and pushed legislation nationwide probably by now if not soon.

They should haves followed example of MLK not Farrakhan or black & white hate groups, but blm & antifada had different goals.

Op is a lying fig-got. GF resisted the entire time. Claimed to be claustrophobic 100 times because he didn’t want to get in the car. Had he gotten in the car he would be alive now.

One thing is clear from that:
He was doing a whole lot of screaming, yelling, and talking for a man who couldn't breathe.

And said he couldn’t breathe BEFORE the cop kneeled on him.

He’s the typical, complainer/my chest hurts arrestee cops get immune to because they deal with it so much. Like false rape accusations, real medical emergencies fall on deaf ears. I see why the cop had such a nonchalant look on his face. This was Floyd’s act the entire time.

Well, how can it be explained that he was driving an SUV full of passengers but he was claustrophobic when asked to get the in Cop car?

Can he do both?

The cop did pull gun early but we don't know the prior events that led to that...cop had zero trust in Floyd...he wanted to see both hands

Was he shot by police prior?

Well, he was a repeat felon...."he did nuttin"....doesn't fly with this cat...

sad sad sad ordeal.

we are literally fighting for social justice over a man who was drugged out of his mind...who was driving a car before he was pulled

just so sick of none sense...

why can't people pull their act together....

don't break the law, then there won't be trouble

Someone didn't read the autopsy report. Chauvin had almost zero to do with Floyd's death. I know facts tend to get in the way of feels, though.
