Avery island is a good visit. The boiling point in new Iberia for crawfish(a little early in the season but they’ll be good) or lunch at rip van winkle (Jefferson Cafe I believe). Nunu’s in laffy for boudin.

Deano’s for pizza

Holy shat, Deano’s is overrated. It might be good for Laffy, but my advice is to avoid Mexican (Lafonda) & pizza joints there.

Social Table is good place to start the night with drinks

OG Deano's is the best in the area. Pizza Shack is good, but The Parrain and Marie Leveaux at Deano's.

agree Mazens isn’t good in Lafayette, never been to Lake Charles

The one in Lake Charles is better than the Lafayette location.

Little unknown fact. The owner of Mazens is the man behind that abandoned water park on I=10.

The one in Lake Charles is so superior that I won’t return to the one in Lafayette.

The owner himself won't deny this.

Hot food express for some of the best fried rice you'll ever eat

Sit at the bar at Don's for a couple of Old Fashions and appetizers

Shrimp poorboy from Olde tyme or anything from Pop's downtown

Mandez's has great burgers and fried seafood

Marcello's is very overrated. I'd skip.

The ride to Abbeville for Shucks or Dupuis' would be worth your time.

The muffalotta at Deanos is fantastic is one of my favorite sandwiches in Lafayette.

If you’re doing touristy stuff check out Cajun Village or Vermillionville. I think Vermilionville is more recreations, but Cajun Village is an old Cajun Village made with actual 100+ year old structures from around the area.

Hopefully the weather is nice, so you can eat outside. Great sandwiches. I usually get a fried shrimp poboy, but the roast beef, and other non-seafood sandwiches look great too.
