I'm wondering if this is meant to temporarily bring up the value of the brand before selling it off at the highest price they can get...

no, free internet porn killed playboy. removing the nOOds only hastened its spiral into irrelevancy.

We're making playboy great again. What a year

BTW, their decline in interest had more to do with dilution of their "sophisticated" or "tasteful" nudes branding due to all of the reality shows where the public learned that their models are super white trash and basically hookers

The far left politics were what turned me away. I had subscribed for more than a decade.

It was once a pretty good deal. The ads and articles were centered around the modern man. How to properly stock your home bar, the latest audio/video gear, how to make an old fashioned, panty dropping vacations, and some locker room jokes. Throw in a review of the latest Porche every now and then.

Today, it's a hard copy of the Huffington Post.

How anyone thought this would be a good idea is beyond me. This would be like Anheuser-Busch removing alcohol from all their adult beverages with the expectation that sales would increase.

Kids nowadays just don't understand. Back in my early teens (late-80s) a Playboy was worth its weight in gold. I remember I paid a guy to go buy one for me when I was in 7th grade, I was so excited, got it home, ready to fap and was disappointed to find that the Playmate was an Asian chick

Fapped anyway.

I didn't say it was a bad thing. I'm saying Larry flynt already had that segment of the nudey magazine market. Playboy was the nudey magazine for dudes who didn't want to feel like perverts

I'm actually giving it way more thought than it deserves

You would think any employee or executive at playboy would be shown the door for merely suggesting they remove nudity

After my grandparents passed, my dad and I were cleaning up his childhood home. We were in the basement and my father starts reaching up into a gap between two joists when he starts laughing, "Yes! They are STILL here!"

He proceeds to pull 7-10 playboy mags from the 70's and confesses he hid them there as a boy and later decided to leave them to see if his mom would ever find them. Those mags went undiscovered for nearly 40 years

Nudity? They better be showing guts. That's what's on the internet.

Actually I think porn could use a more soft touch and tasteful approach. Especially since some of these pussies are beat to shite

This is true. Nudity wasn't the problem. The photo-shopping was the real problem. Those girls looked like CGI.

They were done when fake tits became mainstream and every issue featured women that looked like your average stripper. During my youth one maybe two issues a year would feature a woman truly gifted by god, it was like Christmas.
