Las Colinas is a nice area for families/yuppies. Singles are best off in Uptown

I don't have a problem with Richardson, but its a long way from downtown/uptown. People really only live in Richardson if they are working in Richardson. Nothing wrong with it though. That is actually where the most growth is going on right now. Stae Farm is building a huge new complex there as well as the Toyota US Headquarters moving there as well.

Richardson is not far from Uptown or even Dallas proper for that matter, now Sherman, that's far.

Most of the growth is Collin county, McKinney, Frisco, Prosper, etc.

And Toyota is building its headquarters in Plano/Frisco city line, not Richardson.

Frisco is straight up booming. McKinney will be the next area to really explode once Frisco gets so expensive like Plano

Super nice. If you can find a space in one of the places that's been there for a decade or so - There are deals to be had. Also plenty of stores in walking distance for groceries and whatnot.

How close is your job going to be to the nearest light rail station? That could open things up a bunch for you and save you a ton on gas and commuting times if your work is pretty close.

You'll never have to admit it here - But there are lots of places downtown... and I mean NICE places in high rises downtown that offer rent on a sliding scale. There were so many open units for so long after the economy dipped that places bit and took the govt money... but are still really selective about who they let live there.

Well I'll start out in SW Dallas. I mapped from The Mason Bar to the address and it was like 8.5 miles. I will be there for a few months then be moved onsite somewhere in Dallas so I really do not know. So I am just going to live centrally and make it work.

Frisco is easily becoming overdeveloped like Plano. I think Prosper is next. McKinney has a lot of restrictions for growth, they intentionally do not want to become Plano/Frisco.

West Village is in uptown, check the Rivera apartments or the ones by The Rustic (Pat Geen's bar)

I love the rustic. I was there last time I was in town. It was slammed at like 3pm.

Nice . I like this Riviera place. I really do not want to live in a high rise or do the whole parking garage thing. 3-4 levels is plenty tall for me and our own parking lot would be clutch.

I've got a couple friends there. You can find better price per square foot an exit away both directions... but it's not going to make a huge difference.

Any places I should specifically check out?

Honestly - I get the individual ones confused unless I've messed around with somebody enough to make the name stick. Only reason I know about square foot pricing is because I have a couple friends that are locators and they are constantly comparing notes.

The Bryson and L2 are in between the Rustic and West Villiage on Lemmon. Mentioned in my last post. Look there.
