North, Central, or South America, where would you go if you could choose one place?
And what time of year?
Trying to get some ideas for me and GF travel this year.

This is silly... At least narrow it to a list of countries. You just listed about 1/3 of the world.

Machu Picchu in Peru or Patagonia, Chile. If you and the GF are the outdoors type.

I was going with a few places in Central America but then saw this
You don't want to bring a GF to these places

Wife and I did Carmel, CA last year. The coast is beautiful. Big sur, monterey, and up to San francisco. Wonderfully romantic trip, much to do, beautiful scenery.
Year before, we flew up to Boston and did the fall foliage deal. Spent a few days on cape cod and Martha's vineyard, then up to VT a d new hampshire. Stayed in North Conway. White mountain is beautiful that time of year.

NOT Central America, save for Belize / Costa Rica and maybe parts of Panama. There's a reason everyone is fleeing that region.
I think Carribean Islands, Coastal Colombia, Chile, and Argentina all worth going to in South America if you are able to speak a little Spanish.
Canada and the U.S. are huge and have tons of beautiful areas to travel to, but being from the U.S. neither will feel that exotic.
Coastal Mexico is always an option, but there's always a lot of gringos. Better off going to the Carribean or Colombian Coast.
My personal recommendation is either Cartegena, Santa Marta, or San Andres Island...all of which are Colombian cities. They have large enough tourist travel to be safe and offer plenty of fun, at a relatively cheap price. Weather is essentially the same year round, and a surprising number of people speak English.
