What does that have to do with what I posted or responded to?

Why should he be suspended from his show or even criticized because he thinks homosexual acts are a sin. Hell, the bible is on his side.

That's the decision of his employer. It has nothing to do with freedom of speech. He's not being legally stopped from saying anything, buy if his employer feels he's representing them in a negative light, they have the right to terminate him.

Seriously?

Why are there social repercussions for disagreeing with what liberals find to be offensive. Tolerance needs to work both ways. Marriage traditionalists don't run around insulting and demonizing gays. Why does it happen the other way around?
It is as simple as this: liberals run Hollywood. So if you say something that they or the followers disagree with, you will see repercussions. Same thing as conservatives run country music. So when the Dixie chicks made an anti conservative statement, there songs were pulled and their careers plummeted. I don't know why this is so hard for some to understand

Acting like the few extreme people represent some large oppression is no better than the people that believe all gays spend their nights licking cake of each other's faces.

Did I say otherwise?

What I'm saying is, why is someone only a bigot if they are against gay marriage. Shouldn't intolerance work both ways? It's seems rational to think that it would, but it doesn't.

Eh, not quite the same. "Anti-gay" people don't want gays to have the same rights as them when it comes to marriage. So they are actively wanting to be treated differently. So while I understand your point, it isn't quite the same

It's not out of hatred for gay people. The bible specifically says that homosexual acts are a sin. 1 Corinthians 6:9. Marriage is between a man and a woman. Their opposition of gay marriage is religion based, not hate based.

Which is fine, but the second the government got involved with marriage(which they never should have) it became a right. So while it may not be out of hatred, they are still wanting to be treated differently by taking away something.

Why they oppose it is irrelevant when discussing whether or not it should be legal.

I can understand that point. The state can say whatever, it makes no difference to me because I know the Catholic Church will never allow it.

However, that is not the point I'm trying to make. Phil Robertson is being demonized as a racist homophobe bigot just because his faith is different from theirs and conflicts with it. That is what I find to be hypocritical.

Yeah I think this discussion got off track. I didn't mean for the legal issues to come up. I more have a problem with the negative negative implications of not supporting the gay community.

It is hypocritical only if he treats homosexuals with respect and dignity. If he simply doesn't agree with them, but he treats them the same, then it is very hypocritical for the, to demonizes him. However, I would be pretty surprised if he would treat a gay person with respect. But maybe I am wrong. Lord knows I have been wrong before

Yeah Phil is extreme. I don't know how he would react. But this goes back to the saying two wrongs don't make a right.

Even so though, I have been called a bigot and homophobe excuse I think homosexual acts are a sin. I have never disrespected gays, but yet I get targeted for having a different faith. How is that right? I just want tolerance to work both ways and for people to be able to make their own opinions without being pressured.

Phil Robertson has brought a lot of good light to the university and he shouldn't be disowned by his alma mater just because his religion does not support the gay and lesbian community.
