Trash?
A show you can sit down with your children and watch.
You people are amazing.
Everybody has an opinion. As you can see by his condemnation his opinion is based on ignorance.

The show caters to the lowest common denominator.
So yeah. Trash.
Another case that opinions are mostly based in ignorance.

Anybody know how they really make their $,
I never heard of the Faulks.
As of right now there is a large demand for anything with their name on it. They are invited to speak all over the country. The bucks are flying in at a high rate. What I have wondered about was prior to their fame. I had no idea there was a demand for so many duck calls. I haven't heard of any other income, legal or illegal before their fame.

that's what I was asking about, obviously they're rolling in it now, but I can't imagine that theirs was a lucrative industry before, Haynesville shale maybe?

Ok.
Traditional, white, Christian families equal lowest common denominator?
This is pointless , you prob prefer shows like project runway and real wives of Atlanta/ NBA what the frick ever housewives.
So yeah, I see the divide.

So to counter his nature of judging television shows, you judge television shows.
hypocrite.

No dumbfrick, I'm pointing out the logic why someone would think DD is trash.

Why is the school honoring him? Honoring celebrities is lame.

back in 81-82, they gave TB some sort of award at a Tech graduation, before he starting heaping money and rings on them, and there was a bit of a stink raised about it

I've actually become very irritated at this entire situation. The students and faculty who are calling Phil a homophobe racist bigot are just massive hypocrites. They are demonizing anyone who supports traditional marriage.
Anyone who doesn't agree with their view is a bigot. Not only that, they will bully and harass people with insults until they either A: Shut Up or B: Decide to agree with them.
It is becoming disgraceful. They love freedom of speech until your opinion is different from theirs. At that point you are an idiot, racist, homophobe. It is a despicable trend that is becoming more and more common.
I will never be someone to back down from it. I got into it with one of the professors from tech and I had at least 10 people call me and thank me because they agreed but didn't want the repercussions of saying something. The vocal minority will do anything to have their voices heard and have their opponents silenced.

Precisely why these people suck at life.
I can't express how much joy it gives me to know I don't have to live among, associate with or work among these type idiots.

Damn. Do any of you think that people don't want some reality show star to be regarded as a distinguished alumn? I realize he has done other things, but you can't ignore the trash that is his show.
How stupid are you people? Reality show star? How about alumni, student-athlete, successful businessman, benefactor who has always remained close to the local area.
And saying the show is trash just shows that you are indeed stupid.

quote:Eh I don't know about that. He seems like a good guy now but in his past he did some really really bad things. Why does he get praise for being this super duper greatest guy thing when there are millions of people that have never made shitty decisions? I find that funny about our culture. If you area good person your whole life, you get zero recognition. But do something really shitty, and then become normal like everyone else, and you get praised as "such a good person that found the light"
Great guy

What does this have to do with freedom of speech? He has every right to say whatever he wants, but that doesn't mean the public will agree or that there won't be social repercussions
Posted on 5/25/14 at 2:24 pm to TigerBait1127
I'm pretty sure Phil Roberston could not give a frick less about the "social repercussions" he may face.
Good try though.
