We'll be there next week and I was curious if anybody has been recently to let us me know what the seaweed is like this year? We typically go later in July but I decided to go earlier in the summer this year to avoid as much as possible.

Was in Destin for a few days early last week. No problems with seaweed. Water was pretty clear. LastTuesday there was a lot of jelly fish.

No seaweed. Jellyfish come and go... not a real issue unless you see the blue tops floating on the water.

went last week...

Beautiful water, no seaweed.

Beware of the beach Nazis.

Stinky smell in the afternoons, paper mill-y.

Thats just the sewage from all the residences flowing into the Gulf. Nothing to fear.

I thought it was ironic that the beach Nazis were worried about tarps when they cleared had a much larger and stinkier issue to worry about.

We were there last weekend. Water was as good as I've seen on the coast in a long while.
Not seaweed or jellyfish.

This was our first time staying down toward the public beach and I was amazed at the trashy arse people there and at the bars/restaurants in that area.

It is actually way better than it used to be.

Years ago I was at The Dock and saw a hide in a thong with a string hanging out.
