I emailed her. Told her she was being paged.

that is good...I see that she is signed in, so she likely sees the thread bumped asking about her. hopefully she feels like checking in for just a bit.

Hey All,
I figured nobody wants to hear about a boring, middle aged lady who it currently is looking like I WON!
I finished my last rounds of chemo in October. Had a CAT scan in December and currently no signs of disease! Am seeing my oncologist every 2 months. Next appointment is Monday. Will do blood work and see where the tumor markers stand. When I started they were at 75 after first round of chemo and radiation and before surgery they were down to 19 (anything below 40 is good).
I appreciate every last one of you who are thinking of me and remembering me. It means more to me than anyone will ever know.
Hugs!

That's fantastic news! And course we want to hear about it!
I'm very happy for you. Hope your digestive problems are behind you and you can start enjoying some good meals and get your strength back. Keep us posted on you progress and on your next travel destination.
Take care and be well!

Hang in there. My best friend just went through radiation for a tumor found on the parotid gland. You can do it.

Is your friend being treated in Crowley? The Cancer Center in Crowley have a fantastic staff. My team of oncologist/radiation/surgeon were awesome. I had checked out MD Anderson but my husband and I agreed traveling back and forth was going to be too hard on me so I rolled the dice and stayed local. Have never regretted that decision.
Your friend is in my prayers.

Thanks for the prayers MD, I really appreciate them. In an earlier post you had mentioned your cousin and that you could put us in touch via email if I had any questions for him. If this is still possible I would appreciate it. Just have some questions about lingering issues and wondering if he had them and they went away.

Been through surgery, bone marrow transplant, and inpatient chemo.
I am not going to lie there are days that suck, and times that the news you get is not encouraging.
Then those days will go away, you will have a lot more good days, and 15 yrs later you will barely remember this.

I am not going to sugar coat it the chemo will be hard the first few rounds as they are adjusting meds to handle the side effects. Once you get through that part of the chemo you will have a lot of good days with maybe a day or two where you feel tired.

You made it this far good luck.

I am so happy for you. Pancreatic cancer took my grandfather and it took him quickly. He was a fantastic person and I miss him every day.

Here's to a long and healthy life for you!
