Correct.... born in 1960 and have the same memories.. the 80's were great I just wish I would have been smart enough to make a few better choices back then....

Agree with that. I was still foolish with my money back then.

Well I moved down here from Michigan. In 1979 and found that Bourbon street became my favorite destination... I was making real good money working offshore and blew most of it in Mew Orleans.

I'm 41 but my 30s were good. I got married in my 20s but we had 2 kids, starting making good money, both changed jobs a few times, moved a few times, almost got divorced but didn't. I hope my 40s are a little less hectic and laid back since my kids are getting older. I don't look forward to them being teenagers in 2-3 yrs. I do love that the older that I get, the less I give a shite what other people think of me. I guess it's one of the few perks of aging.

What has been your favorite decade of life?

My favorite decade was 1980-1990 by far. Late teens to late 20's. I was a major fixture in the alternative music scene in Baton Rouge. I threw some of the wildest, biggest parties Baton Rouge has ever seen. I was at the top of my game and the top of my popularity....it was my personal 15 minutes of fame.

I really can't say. Life's been great the whole time. Although, post college has been better than before. As one ages, the importance of things changes. I realized a while ago that I need to do what it is I want to do, not what it is I think I should be doing. That has resulted in a change in my hobbies and I am generally doing less. That may sound bad, but it's what I want to do.

I'm not going to give up may age but I'll say sincerely as I can that I've enjoyed each decade even more than the last.

From what I've seen, the second one thinks he's learned everything about something, the more weary life begins to become. But, if one embraces the realization of how much more and more he doesn't know as life goes on, one will find the same enthusiasm for life he had as a child... sometimes even more.

(if that makes any sense)

I am 50+ and didn't get married until I was in my late 20s so I barely remember my 30s. Starting a family, buying a house, having kids and working my arse off. I'd have to say my early 20s were the best for me. Don't misunderstand! I love my kids and family life, its just that I have to "adult" a lot more than I did when I was younger. Every man, no matter his situation, remembers their carefree life at some point and smiles. If you say you don't, you're a liar.

My 40s were pretty decent but, with only three more years to go before I turn 60, I would have to say the second half of my 50's have been great. I retired from the Air Force, got a job making almost as much as I did when on Active Duty which affords me to do whatever I want. Hopefully, the next decade of my life will only get better from here.

For me, 72-86 were amazing. The 90's weren't too shabby neither.
