Looking back, what has been your favorite decade of life? From what I've heard, most people end up saying their 30s.

I, personally, will be turning 30 soon and am looking forward to embarking on a brand new decade.

I am unmarried, and my 20s are the obvious choice of best decade for me. I had a great childhood, but going through college and then developing into a somewhat high-functioning and independent manchild has been a blast. If the next 10 years are even better, I can hardly wait.

Life is good, fellas. Happy Friday! I appreciate your wisdom.

My 50's aren't finished but they've been fantastic. Financially, I've gotten to a point where I can do what I want to do. I also get to deal with my kids as adults. My son has come into my business and I'm grooming him to take over some day. I get to spend more time with him than most parents with kids in their early 20's. I can't wait to get up each day to attack the challenges of growing our company together.

I was a teenager in the '70's, so I guess that would be my favorite despite the onslaught of the Disco Explosion and the passing of all of my remaining grandparents. The early 80's were really cool (I was at LSU from '79-'84), and I also have great memories of being a boy in the 1960's. Each decade of my life have had it's pluses and minuses, but I'm really enjoying the current one and look forward to each phase of my life.

We have the same memories growing up.

Those definitely were simpler times in many ways.

I'm hoping my 90's will rock and I have a king bed in my suite at Ollie Steele nursing home.

I had a lot of fun in my 30's but I just turned 56 and my 50's have been great.

Financially secure.Emotionally and Psychologically secure.

I'm in my 30s right now.

I feel like the 30s for most people will probably be their most stressful decade.

Young kids, really trying to advance career/taking on more responsibilities, mortgage, etc

The 20s are more fun and laid back. The later decades (40s, 50s) you have more money and are probably more secure in your position at work.

30s seem to be where the stress is

although if you're single, I guess the 30s could be awesome

One of the joys of aging is the dawning realization that it gets better in so many ways. All the stuff you hear is true, if you are doing it right. You trade vitality( bummer) for wisdom , with each decade having its reward.

For instance- Watching my kids become these super - musicians and playing paid gigs- I would have never dreamed that a decade ago. Finding my true career at age 40, no way. The emotional depth of my relationships at 45. The way nothing pisses me off anymore like it did when I was 30. My spiritual growth. My role in the larger community.

So, my 20's were epic-I travelled, I lived abroad, I was uber- fit, I got married... but my least meaningful decade. It just gets better. Your thirties should be a period of tremendous personal growth. You start caring a hell of a lot less about the opinions of others and you start mastering the little things in life.

The 40's sucked arse. Kids suck the financial and mental life from you at an alarming rate.

Wouldn't 40's be better than your 30's?

I can't imagine anything being better than my 20's. This was the 1990's. I didn't get a real job straight out of college and just bartended in a restaurant working 4 days a week and partying every night if I wanted to.
