Yeah. Bunch of morons stereotyping fraternity kids as all rich kids who get set up with jobs out of school. That's like 5-10% of the kids in fraternities.

And it seems like they have a damn good case. If my free subscription hadn't already run out for the month, I'd post the litany of authority cited by Volokh on the issue.
The university is a public entity (the government), and they can't do what they just did if it was based on the speech.

Look, OK SAE alumni, fathers or not, will most likely make sure these guys don't suffer very much for very long. Entrance to some other institution plus jobs will be waiting in exchange for a commitment not to be such a dumbs again or at least not get caught on video doing it.

well if OU won that argument, then i would shudder to imagine life on OU's campus

these rules have to apply to everyone, or else you have no rules. it sucks b/c what they said was so shitty, but you have to have an entire system of behavioral regulation, which includes adequate due process for those accused. the rules have to be clear to everyone, or else it is impossible to know if you are breaking a rule
I have no problem with that and I'm sure some level of double standard exists but don't be intellectually dishonest and suggest that white kids chanting about lynching n*****s doesn't top the scale of "crude and deplorable shite" you can say these days.

Being disciplined is one thing this is pretty much ruining their lives for something stupid that they did while being drunk. In case some of y'all don't know if you are expelled from school it's on a permanent record and is damn near impossible to get into any other college. Not only that, anytime you do a Google search there names will come up for this so chances of them getting a job are slim to say the least. Over the top for some drunken stupidity that didn't cause harm to anyone.
