If Menchie's kept red velvet permanently, I would be 400 lbs.

i know i miss the frick out of red mango in perkins rowe...... the white peach and mango flavors were on point.... i'd usually fill up the largest containers, knock all the air pockets out of the swirl, pack it tight, and bring them home..... i'd spend about $100 each trip (2 containers of each flavor), but it'd last me a month or so.... better than ice cream for my little one (and me too)...

I like to think I'm going get low calorie yogurt with fruit toppings. I always get the most sugar filled flavor with brownies and chocolate. At best its non fat chocolate and granola. But that's only if I'm on a strict (very loose definition of strict) diet.
But it's yogurt, not ice cream. Totally healthy.

Yogurtland has the best tasting Froyo of all the chains. Menchies is good too.

I used to go to a frozen custard place in west monroe called eskimos that was just fantastic on a hot summer night...
cool thing is, they sold some kind of frozen shite for your dog to eat too...not sure what it was, but dogs would just freak the frick out when they got it...

In BR, on Jefferson Hwy/Citiplace, try Yogurtland's Toasted Coconut and also TCBY's 99 cents Waffle Cone Wednesday for the White Chocolate.

Fro Yo trend was at its height about 3-4 years ago. Not too many are still around in BR and Nola.

I finally convinced the kids that gummy anything does not go well with frozen yogurt. Mine have also figured out that too much of anything or too many flavors sometimes make it yucky.
I think it's easy for some people to overeat at these places, and it's especially bad because people do view it as healthy as opposed to ice cream. But just like buffets, you have to make the right choices and do things in moderation. And if you have any impulse control issues (like many young kids do) then you're going to have issues. I brought my youngest daughter and her overweight friend (age 5) to one and had to stop the friend from adding anything else to her dish when I realized she'd put large scoops of 5 different candies on her yogurt. It was about the equivalent of two bags of M & Ms and she ate it all. I felt like I was contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
