Evaluating several new vehicles but wondering if anyone has any thoughts on the 2015 Range Rover sport. Reliability still an issue with these cars?

Also looking at the Porsche Cayenne. All for mrs SVT (no pics).

If it's a lease, not a huge issue if it's a must have.

That said, I would still not advise.

Garbage reliability. Excellent performance now that isn't a discovery with another body slapped on it.

There's a reason you can buy these things with very low mileage for less than 10% of retail at 7-10 years old.

Still trying to talk myself out of buying a mint used range rover for woods only use.

Just think it would be hilarious. Drive a Nissan, go bounding through swamps in a range rover.

Range Rover Sport says things I don't care to project as well as poor reliability record.

The Cayenne is a beautiful car but it is temperamental too and horribly depreciates. Better choice for my better half.

Never get a Range Rover you aren't prepared to pay a lot of repair $$ on. 40% of the time you will get one that's never an issue... the rest is a shop vac in your wallet.

I shoulda started saving the money to switch out an air suspension for springs the moment I got mine.

ETA:

I have a car to drive for while the RR isn't working.

The mrs is used to driving SUVs. We currently have an ML. Don't want the Lexus because it's too boring. Other options are the Cayenne and the Audi Q7. I would have gone Audi except that they're changing the model next year.

Why does that matter?

Sedans are just sexier to me. I think all SUVs are a bore. I can't imagine her not liking a 6 series more than a ML.

I'm a Sedan guy too. I think she just prefers SUV. And we have a kid so the extra space helps.

Q7 is a slug. A Cayenne S or GTS will run circles around it. The Turbo is in another league.

Wife has a 14 TDI S-line. Was gonna wait for the new one but they kept pushing it back. So far, I don't like the look of the new exterior but maybe I will change my mind once a sportier one is revealed. The new interior looks damn pimp, especially the full screen instrument cluster.
