Would you fly it?

I watched some videos of these planes and they look like a kick in the pants to fly, and may look in to building/buying one of these for fun.

The closest thing to a pilot on the OT is someone who works at a Pilot truck stop.

I knew this was coming before I even clicked it.

If I remember straight, it's like $27,000 with the post last week

I don't think so. I'm older now so I appreciate something that's a little less twitchy on the stick.

Which I think that would be with the engine/wing setup.

Looks fun, but in south Louisiana you need something IFR equipped.

Put some floats on it! Makes those things much more fun. Slower, but fun.

Not true, you just need a functioning Mode S transponder. plenty of VFR only planes even in the Mode C veil.

No, I am talking about how often storms and clouds pop up out of nowhere. I personally would not feel safe flying often without instruments.

Someone up around Watson has something similar. I've seen him land it in the Amite and wade fish. I don't think it's as big as the one in the OP though.

A number of years ago, I flew in a Quicksilver (not unlike the plane you show) around the Cauca River Valley area in Colombia with a friend of mine.

It was terrifying and amazing all at once.

Looks like something John Denver would fly around in. No thanks.

Use it for my neighborhood watch shift. Everyone hates it.

John apparently gave the term "stick time" new meaning.

I've flown the King Air 90, 100, 200, and 300. The 1900 is a 19 pax plane that regional airlines use to use, not so much anymore. Most common is the 200 which holds around 6 comfortably. It's an awesome bird..smooth, pressurized, and turbine. You'll enjoy the ride.
