Seems my kids' generation is waaaaaaaaay more responsible about d&d than my generation was, which is great obviously.

idk about that. i'm a younger millennial and a lot of my friends have DUIs, or at least were arrested for DUI.

That's because it was a helluva lot easier to get away with it when I was in HS.

We were open about drinking to our kids. We knew they were going to do it and our only rule was don't drink and drive, simply call and say I'm drunk and can't drive home.

Drinking.

I'd be embarrassed to raise a pothead.

I dont care about people who smoke weed, and I think it should be legal as it is less harmful than alcohol.

However, I would be more angry at my child smoking weed in the current climate. Getting caught with weed in Louisiana has more of a possible negative affect on your future than alcohol does at the current moment.

Also, there is alot more shite a kid can get into buying weed, than getting alcohol underage.

I'd prefer them to drink though, at that age I think pot has a bigger affect on development since the brain is not completely developed then

You might want to look at what alcohol does to the body

I have noted two incorrect usages of affect/effect in this thread. Are you guys drunk or high?

Yep. My line of thinking pretty much mirrors this. We'll see if it changes.

ETA: And I noticed the effect/affect mixup, just didn't want to correct it

Smoking pot. It's not illegal here and alcohol is far more destructive and dangerous.

So is alcohol for someone underage. What's your point?

Smoking, no question about it. As a teenager I did both and I was far more irresponsible and outright stupid while drunk compared to be high.

Not in New Orleans. It is decriminalized. There's virtually no difference. I see people smoking weed in public all the time
