OT HR people - need advice

I was recently offered a new job and about to submit my application for the background process. The problem is I recently started another position that wasn't on my resume when I originally submitted it. What is the best way to handle this? I don't want to look like my resume was intentionally inaccurate.

Position within same company, or another company altogether? Either way, just tell them. But, if it's another company altogether, why are you job hopping so much? That doesn't look all that good in a short period of time.

Sadly, if you want actual helpful advice you should probably look somewhere else.

Did you mention your current roll in the interview? I can't imagine that they didn't ask what you're doing now.
This shouldn't be a big deal. Just let them know that you left it off of your resume and whether or not they can contact your current employer.

You're switching jobs that quickly, why?

I'm guessing he applied for two jobs, got offered the less desirable job and took it, then was offered the more desirable job. That's really the only logical explanation.

No HR experience, send an email to the company and background check company with the added info to be checked

You should be contacted by interviewer doing background. Just explain it then. Should be no big deal.

That means he shouldn't listen to you and is right back where he started - listening to OT wisdom.
OP, you should quit your job and work with kids making $200 per week.

Thanks all! About the time I started this new position out of need I had submitted my resume. So ultimately the resume I submitted was "correct" at that time but not really now and I am not lying on my app.

I see nothing wrong with just letting the resume ride as is.

Did you complete a background form & release? If so, no one will likely call & they will just run criminal and, if required, educational background. They may or may not be able to reach someone for references.
If someone calls you regarding the background, just tell them that you took a transitional position during your job search and the job change happened after you submitted your resume.
Unless you have a history of job hopping or they already had reservations about you, really won't make that big of a difference. They don't want to start the hiring process all over again for something that doesn't matter. They can't run background checks on everyone so they are likely at the end of the hiring process & are just hoping you pass inspection so they can hire you & move on to the next open position.

I was referencing HR, not the OT. This board is packed full with wisdom.

HR people will lie to you. Tell 'em whatever you need to tell them.
