I've seen you mention this before. How are you still with them?

Slave to the dollar?

This, and I have equity within the company now. I'm considered a "partner." Albeit a very, very small one.

Fortune 100 or below will not "meet" you on your terms.

Depends on the situation and specifics. However if an applicant seems unwilling to meet you halfway or sacrafice, it would reflect poorly.

expect the applicant to make schedule changes on their end to be interviewed during "normal" business hours, give or take 30 minutes to 1 hour?

this.

in response to the comment "I would fricking love it" if someone wouldn't take off of work for an interview: unless the applicant is in sales, i would interpret someone not taking time off of work to be either motivated by some desire to avoid their current employer knowing that they're interviewing, that they can't keep up with their work to the point of being able to take two hours off, -or- that they are so self-absorbed that they can't be bothered to do an interview like every person who ever interviewed for a job evar.

On a more positive note, I'll be in Scottsdale in January. Staying at the Marriott. Drinks?

100%!!! The Marriott is LITERALLY 50 feet from my place at most, probably less. Ask FlyAU how much fun it is out here!

Not sure of my agenda, but am hopeful that we will have a break in the action to grab a drink.

I'm pretty sure that's not the case. It is in a different state and I have to travel to interview so that's the main reason they are being so accomodating I think. That and it seems this in person interview will seal it. Scheduled for Dec. 23. Hoping Santa brings me a job this year.

Keep that in mind in a couple of years, when they ask you to fly to/from a client visit on Christmas Eve.

It probably depends on how interested in you they are. I just had a company offer to interview me on Christmas Eve which I found surprising.

This should send you screaming in the opposite direction. My first ever job, the interview was at 6 pm on a Friday. This was a sign, although I was too naive to recognize it at the time . But Christmas Eve? Come on.

We've discussed ideal timelines already as well as start dates. Started to talk money but they want to do that in person.

It depends entirely on their level of experience, availability and race.

If the applicant wants the job they will adjust their schedule for the interview.
