If you're just eating salads it don't matter what dressing you put on it.

bullshite, most dressings are full of fat and sodium. Thousand island, Ranch, Blue cheese, Ceaser, etc....

I squirt just a tiny bit of low fat Italian of any sort, just a little bit, and then a shitload of balsamic vinegar

or I just make my own

EVOO
White wine or champagne vinegar
lemon juice
salt
pepper

Arugula and cherry tomatoes with a little parmesan. My perfect side salad.

I have two.

Balsamic vinegar and Vegetable Oil with Ground Black Pepper to taste.

Balsamic vinegar and Olive Oil with a bit of ground Parmesan cheese.

Be careful with the oil, but usually this leads sub-200 calorie dressings.

The fat isn't soluble in the water filled lettuce so it doesn't absorb into the body.

Check out Walden Farms dressings. Thats what the Ideal Protein diet suggests. Pretty much nothing to them.

ETA: Damn. Ive been beat to the punch. But as noted earlier, most do not taste too great.

I was awake some of the time

So you're saying that there's no difference in how you digest dressings? So what's the point of low fat ranch vs. regular ranch?

That's smart. The fat from the dressing just goes out of the body. Might as well have a cleaner poop.
