I did quite well, bought a 100 year old railroad lantern for $3, some vintage designer costume jewelry (2 pieces, $1 each)

And for $1, I struck gold!!! 14K gold ring, weighs a ton, not sure what the gem is made of!!!

I hate to break it to you but that ring isn't you for several reasons.

honestly I like these deals. Though I would feel really bad if I bought someones heirloom ring for $1.
I mean it may only have a scrap value of $60 but they probably didn;t know it was real. Not saying YOU did anything wrong. Just saying how I would feel.

Super rich neighborhood, near $1M homes. If I wouldn't have bought it, some one else would.

I do it every weekend.

What am i supposed to do, go to garage sales and tell people they have stuff way under marked?

Purchases like these are what enable me to purchase things like a Canon 5D Mkiii last week ($2500)

Are you going to do this every single time you buy something at a garage sale?

If the ring was buried in a mound of loose costume jewelry, I may feel a little bad, but (like today) if it is individually packed in a ziplock with. A $1 price tag on it, I have zero problems.
