I've got a golden doodle shedding situation. It's awful. Thought this dog was supposed to be hypoallergenic.

Who has experience with a furminator deshedding tool? It expensive as fek. Worth it?

Any options out there better than the furminator?

I don't know if it's worth it but it works pretty well on my yellow lab.

Absolutely. Best one I've ever owned by far.

What does that have to do with shedding? Unless you're allergic to hair maybe?

We were told it wouldn't shed and would be hypoallergenic. False.

Yes it works well for botH my lab-chow mix and my corgi-collie mix. We got the bigger one and haven't had any issues with it.

I thought the bonus of the golden doodle was that they didn't shed?

To answer your question, yes it's legit. Be careful though it would irritate our golden's skin if I used it too often. I would furminate every other day and use a regular brush on the other days. It didn't totally eliminate the fur but limited it so it was bearable.

There is no such thing as a hypoallergenic dog.

There are some that may bother people with allergies less.

I have one that I use on our cat. Well worth the $50 or whatever it was I paid for it. Has seriously cut down on the shedding.

I owned both. Had a lab mix and a poodle (which I never used it on), but the lab shed terribly. I originally owned the furminator -- worked great. After my furminator broke I found Walmart copy of it in their dog area. EXACT SAME THING, and only like 12 bucks.

just invest in a good vacuum cleaner and a great dog brush. Brush every day and vacuum every day. Such is dog ownership.

A brush for dogs and cats ... great for helping to minimize shedding. Or at least to curtail it.

Luck of the draw. Your dog's genetics are heavy on the lab side.
