Happy sunday everyone. I'm about to golf but I wanted to post this in case anyone is interested in some very cheap fares on American for this spring. These are the best prices I've seen to these cities in a while, if not ever. All prices are for a roundtrip ticket, if you need help let me know, sometimes finding specific dates can be a challenge. Use google flights to find all of these, the calendar feature works really well

Nola to:

San Diego: $150 on American. Wednesdays in late February or March, Tuesdays or Saturdays in April/early May. Even the more expensive days are only $188

Phoenix: $150 on American. Tuesdays in March, Tuesday/Wednesdays/Saturdays in April through the middle of May.

Philly: $150 on American. Tuesday departures in late February through March, then more sporadic dates in April and May

Dallas: $81 on Southwest or American. February until early March

Miami: $147 on American. Tuesdays/Wednesdays in February through the first week of March

Cancun: $266 on Delta. Last few weeks of February and early march

Los Angeles: $150 on American. Last few weeks of February and early March

What are y'all's thoughts on the flight from NOLA to Dallas? In my case I'd have to drive in like and hour and 15 minutes from BR, deal w/ airport parking or getting a ride, check backage, etc.

On the other hand, BR to Dallas is less than a 7 hour drive. I guess what I'm getting at is what is your cusp point time wise for driving v. flying?

Thanks for posting this.

Use use the 5 hour rule to decide on flying over driving when I need to make that choice. Anything over 5 hours, fly if there are direct flights.

I fly to SFL most of the time as it's over 5 hours.

Pensacola is tougher though. It's over a 5 hour drive but flying there requires a trip through Atlanta.

Cuse, I was looking at google flights and have a question. Why do you think they set the prices for a 4 night trip? There are dates that I'm playing with for a trip to NYC in July and it seems that the "better" prices are for 4 nights and go up if you extend the trip by one night.

Cuse...thanks again for this continued thread!

I was looking for a good excuse to go to my favorite record store in America--Amoeba Records in Los Angeles.

I think the $150 round trip may be the catylist.

The SO is in Philly with her family, wanted to get her down here for Valentine's day. Hope to find a good deal between tomorrow and then.

Thanks for the info and hope

Sorry got distracted with golfing. For the NYC price, some fares require a minimum of 3 nights, that could be why you're seeing only good prices for 4 nights. In that case, try looking at one way fares and it might be cheaper.

For the Philly-Nola, Feb 10- Feb 17 is $182 on American. Not too bad, it's $247 is she wanted to go back the 15th or 16th

ETA: Abita . Enjoy DC, those prices don't usually change too much for hub-hub routes. I'm sure you got a good price
