Happy hump day everyone. Figured I'd mix things up this week with an international version (plus puerto rico). The aruba deal sounds pretty good to me, lot of availability as well. I've been looking for europe deals but haven't seen much for below $900. Any requests let me know

New Orleans to:

Aruba: $301 on American from now until the middle end of May. Lots of availability Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays. Long layover in Miami on the way there (6 1/2 hrs), but that's enough time to tour miami for a bit then head back to the airport

Mexico City: $235 on Delta or United. Now through the fourth week of May. Good on almost any day of the week

Cancun: $330 on Delta, United, American. Was cheaper last week, I'll give an update for next week

San Juan, Puerto Rico: $269
on United, $289 on Delta or American. Goes until the first week of May

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: $320
on Delta or American. Now until the end of May

Montego Bay, Jamaica: $374 on American or Delta. Goes until middle end of May

Grand Cayman: $365 on American. Now through the third week of May

Saint Croix: $389 on American. Mostly tues, wed, sat now through the third week of May.

Saint Martin: $437 on American, $532 on Delta. Tuesdays or Saturdays now through the third week of May

Nassau, Bahamas: $358 on American, $382 on United. Now through the third week of May

Sao Paulo, Brazil: $604 on American. Goes until the end of June.

Hong Kong: $704
on Air China, $804 on United. Cheap dates are in September, the closer cheap dates go up until the second week of May

Dublin: $828
on Jetblue/United/AerLingus. Through the third week of May

Calgary: $366 on Delta, $381 on United/AirCanada. Tues, Wed, some Saturdays in April through the end of May

Toronto: $333 on American, $411 on United. Mostly Tuesday departures in april and may

Vancouver: $350 on United/Air Canada. Basically every month except July/early August

Montreal: $312
on American, $315 on Delta or United. Goes from now until the second week of May

I'm headed to the Keys around labor day. Delta has a layover in ATL and I was hoping to spend a night, or long day there in between. Unfortunately, if you split the round trip flight into a multi-city it adds around 100-150 per person.

Know of any way around this? Is it possible to request the earliest flight into ATL and the latest flight out?

Let me look into this. It's likely a married segments issue, meaning the cheapest ticket you have is MSY-ATL-EYW combined instead of separate MSY-ATL and ATL-EYW. They've made it so most tickets require that the connection be less than 4 hours so that's what we're running into if I had to take a guess. I'll see what I can do.

ETA: After playing around with it, I'm seeing exactly what you're seeing. Roundtrip it's about $432, if you add in a layover or multicity it changes to $536. I've tried one-ways but that won't work since the ATL-EYW fare is real expensive. Your best bet if you want to stay in ATL for a night is to book the last possible connection of the day and have it be a very tight connection. If you miss it, they'll rebook you for the next available flight with seats (which would be the next morning)

If you wanted to fly American and get a long layover in Miami that is possible as it looks like their fares aren't for married segments

I used your suggested Google method and paid 330 for a direct flight from MSY to CUN in June. It was advertised for 264 on the calendar, but I needed 4 tickets so that brought the prices up. Still 330 is a steal for me. Used to paying around 500. Plus nonstop! This is on delta. Thanks for your threads!

??? When did you book that fare? I haven't been able to find that fare for June yet on Delta or United, last week it was only up until the end of May . I'm guessing there was only 1 or 2 seats left at the $264 fare so when you said 4 tickets it bumped all the fares up to $330

Not worth it. Pay the extra money and fly Delta.

There were 3 tickets, but we have 2 kids. We booked on Monday morning for June 11-18. All I did was go to google and enter MSY to CUN. Showed a calendar with prices and links to airlines.

Someone had a bad experience on AA...Was it bad going through Miami? Delta's around $532 so it's about $100 more. For the quick flights to the islands that price difference would be enough for me to fly american.

I'm glad this technique of knowing how and when to check for cheap tickets worked for someone on here. Hope you have a great vacation, I went a few years ago in early june and loved it.

Thanks for looking into it. I was trying to spend a day at the Georgia Aquarium before a dive trip at the keys. I may call and see what they say. Either way, the extra $100 and a hotel room is still cheaper than taking an additional weekend trip for the same purpose. I definitely appreciate your help.

Any good international prices for around September or October? How is Italy that time of year as far as prices go?

I live in SXM and fly back to the USA once every 3 months, and I have flown Delta and American multiple times each. Delta is just a much better flight experience than American That $100 more for Delta must be a weekend fare. Delta's fares are higher on the weekend because there is always a connecting flight that is late and misses the KLM flight to Amsterdam or Air France flight to Paris. So KLM and Air France transfer the ppl to their Skyteam partner so they don't end up with pissed off passengers. If you book tuesday-thursday Delta will about $2-5 more expensive. Delta has in-flight entertainment, more recently renovated planes, and ATL>>>>MIA, customs in MIA is a b***h because they do not have enough kiosks for all the flights coming in there in the same window, but it might be better if you get the TSA passport app American sends all of their old planes on the caribbean routes, Delta's 757s might be old but they have all just been renovated on the inside. Delta also does not nickel and dime you to death like American does. If you get anything above the worst seats you will pay more fore American than you do Delta for a midweek flight and about the same for a weekend flight.

Tickets to Manchester

Tickets for October are going to be expensive right now. You're traveling during the cheapest time of the year to fly to Europe (everyones in school, work, etc). Right now tickets are $1339 (summer priced), you need to hold off for a few months to purchase your tickets until the price comes wayy down (under $1000, can probably find for around $800 if I had to guess).

Not yet, we need to hold off until the summer prices go away and demand drops. Here's a thread I made last august with some price references. LINK

Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver would be awesome, with an emphasis on Calgary.

This.

If you've never been to Dublin/Ireland, one word:"Go".

Try and wait until May, March & at least early April are notoriously cold & damp.

Just got back from Aruba, it is pretty cool, would recommend. It's at 12 degrees North latitude, bring your sunscreen.

Thanks again CuseTigah!

we've had exactly the opposite experiences on AA and Delta. Delta's not been my friend after stranding me at the ithaca airport after 5 hours, then losing my friends bag and sticking me in a middle seat the following morning. I'll agree I'm not a fan of going through MIA (or ATL for that matter), but at this point we're left with some crappy choices of who to fly. Most of the general public just enjoys finding the cheapest ticket so that's what I post in here (minus Spirit airlines)

Hey buddy, glad you had a good trip . Where on the island did you stay? I've been once, think I stayed at la cabana beach and volleyball resort? The north part of the island by the Marriott is very nice.

Oh someone was looking for bavaria questions earlier, would've paged you.
