OT Cheap Airfare of the Week: Syracuse and South Carolina Football Travel

It's that time of the week again. As a special edition, I'm mainly looking at travel for the Syracuse and South Carolina games Sept 26th and Oct 10th. All prices are for roundtrip tickets, I use google flights and southwest's calendar feature to look for the cheapest dates. For the syracuse game, I'm flying up to DC on the 24th at night and then back from Buffalo on Sunday night the 27th. Should be an awesome weekend

Depart Oct 8 or 9: Depart BTR 2:56pm arrive CAE 8:39pm (connection in atlanta, same flights for Thursday or Friday on Delta)

New Orleans to Columbia:
Coming back on Sunday has a cheap flight at 5:45am for $270 Fri-Sun, but I'm thinking most people will be way too hungover to catch that flight.

Booked last week MSY to CLT for South Carolina game for $333.

Not sure why it's more expensive from Nola instead of Baton Rouge, but I just updated the OP with BTR-Charlotte for the USC game. It's $277 for the cheapest or $307 for decent times

Not a LSU location but I booked MSY to Dallas (Love Field) on SW. Round trip for $82.

I truly love these threads by you.
BUT if you go for the cheaper flight, unless you're staying with family, you've got another night in a hotel to pay for as well as meals. Not being an arse really .. just pointing that out. Hit me like a brick when I was booking for Nashville and the cheaper air fare was going to cost me more money!!
Your posts make me just want to fly away ... alas, I guess I'll have to wait until the last munchkin is graduated from hs.

I usually just browse google flights and see if anything looks decent price wise (under 200). For football games when i know people have set dates its a little tougher to find cheaper flights

I've got friends who live in DC so it works out for me, free ride up to the game and back. If you've got a group going it ends up being cheaper as the tickets are over $130 more per person to fly to Buffalo or Rochester, almost $200 alone for Syracuse.

Check Southwest from NO to Atlanta that weekend and you can fly round trip for < $225 R/T and drive the 3 hours to Columbia !

SW has been in this price range pretty regularly flying into Love recently.

I didn't see anything near that cheap on SW, but saw AA round-trip to DFW for under a hundred. Just way earlier than I wanted.
SW is never cheaper for me for some reason.
