GF has a Chevy Cruze about 14000 miles on it. Car has been slow-starting lately. Sometimes an idiot light comes on about a problem with the security system. Sometimes when starting, the windshield wipers and four-ways come on. After start, the wipers turn once and stop. Have to manually shut off the four-ways. No other warning lights/signals. Not sure if it's a bad battery, alternator, something within the computer or a wiring problem.

Voltage reads 14-14.2. Any help would be appreciated, but probably end up taking it to the dealership. Just hadn't seen this problem with wipers and four-ways coming on seemingly random at start.

She says this, or you've experienced it? Sounds completely crazy.

I tried it a little while ago and saw it for myself. I thought it was "woman" related, too, when she told me.

Slow start, 4-ways come on, wipers turn over once. Surfing the net tonight before taking it in tomorrow. Some say it's related to a problem with the security system, some say it's a low battery.

I was an auto technician. It's a blown head gasket.

It could also just be low on blinker fluid.

14,000 miles... any chance the car has gone through some flood waters?

14k miles so it's still under warranty. Let the dealership figure it out.

Chevy's can do weird things if teh battery has a bad cell or two. It will still start but it will impact the functioning of the control modules.

Good luck and let the dealership sort it out.

How big of a girl are we talking? The pressure switch under the drivers seat may be over amped. Did you check the voltage while she is sitting in the driver's seat?

Measure the voltage again with engine off a few loads on(headlights, blower fan)

Why are you asking the OT? it's under bumper to bumper warranty, take it to the dealership.

No, but you might have missed where he said it had 14,000 miles.
