This country sucks. Over the last 20 years the vocal minority has gotten everything they want...frick them.

I'm not sure what you're trying to infer. The article seems to imply that there was broad student support for removing the flag.

So they are going to try to force the State of MS's hand, another election may take place to change the flag, and it will get shot down like it did in 2001. So what then, a state university continues to not fly the flag of the state?

If the people of the state want to change the flag, that's one thing. Let the process work itself out. It's another to make a conscious decision to deliberately not fly the flag of your own state.

I hope this backfires on them.

didn't some group take down an American flag in Chicago because it was "a symbol of hatred"?
As well as a school in CA.

I don't disagree with your point, but perhaps we should be more upset that the "silent majority" has gone down so easily. Apathy has set in amongst the majority, and until that changes, don't expect the next 20 years to look much different.

I agree 100%....the silent majority just prioritizes what is most important in their lives like family and work. I know I won't be protesting anything in my free time...so I am one of the ones to blame.

Except that it's a current state flag. Not the way archives work.

Anytime the vocal majority says anything to combat this, they get shite on by the philistines who watch Jon Stewart. You can't even talk about disposing a US flag with respect without getting fricked with on here like you're a redneck.

It takes too much effort to actually listen to what the other side is saying. It's much easier to demonize them instead.

The majority seems to have spoken, and that message is that they do not want the flag on campus any longer.

Except that it isn't a majority. It is a loud, whiny minority that has far too much power since those in power seems to have lost their balls and Bend over to accommodate them.

These people are setting a dangerous precedent. I will come for things that you enjoy next. Giving into them only Emboldens them.
