So they are going to try to force the State of MS's hand, another election may take place to change the flag, and it will get shot down like it did in 2001. So what then, a state university continues to not fly the flag of the state?
If the people of the state want to change the flag, that's one thing. Let the process work itself out. It's another to make a conscious decision to deliberately not fly the flag of your own state.
I hope this backfires on them.
We're not going to have an election. By this time next year, Mississippi will have a new state flag. It will be voted on by the legislature. People will bitch. The flag will change. Folks will go on about their business.

The state should cut them off.

Mississippi should be cut off from US funding for flying a flag that originally was used in retaliation to support slavery and a side that lost the war against what America stands for
You could argue that it's treasonous
You could argue that it's treasonous

If only the federal government would make all the decisions for us. Who cares what the people that fund the federal government have to say.

You could, but only an idiot would make that argument.

Honest question:
Since they removed the state flag, couldn't the state then argue that they are no longer representing themselves as a public University and deny them funding?

And they being the students of a university voted to have the rebel flag removed from their campus because of what it represented.

And has someone has already mentioned..It is only a matter of time before the flag is removed completely. I don't know why people are so staunch in their stance to keep the thing waving. It's not as if you won't still be able to fly it in your yard or on your truck or dress your children in it.

They said that the last time the SJWs wanted to change the flag, and the people of Mississippi voted and to keep it.

Wouldn't that make Hawaii's flag treasonous? You hypocrite piece of shite.

If they voted to remove the flag because of its meaning, when will they remove ole miss from their name and stop playing Dixie with their marching band? Hypocritical pricks.
Posted on 10/26/15 at 5:25 pm to Gcockboi
It's funny, I made a comment on that the other day and have always found it strange the native Hawaiians haven't tried to change it.

That flawed logic could be applied to the American flag as well.

In the next 10-20 years, "Ole Miss" will be phased out entirely, replaced with The University of Mississippi.
