Realized the other night that my vacuum is about 22 years old (got it right after college). Also, there's an ice maker in my house that's at least 30 years old, but it's never worked.

How about just go to your grandparent's and see what they are still using.

Old washers and dryers last forever.

I have a washing machine that is at least 15-20 years old that an old roommate found for free. It works great.

Growing up, we always had the same refrigerator. I was 21 when my parents moved, so that thing was at least 21 years old without a single problem. Same for the washer and dryer (although I think we swapped out the dryer at around 20 years because it started squeaking....still worked though).

I use to work in the rent to own business in college. It wasn't uncommon to see an old MAYTAG washer that was 30-40 years old. Those old things lasted a loooonnng time

Have a stand mixer that belonged to my wife's great grandma, so probably a product of the late 40s/early 50s. It works, but we already had a kitchenaid mixed so we never use it.

Back in the 80's my grandparents had a chest freezer that looked like it was made in the 50's or 60's.

When I bought my house in December, it had a 50 year old water heater that was still working. So for 2 weeks, I had a 50 year old water heater. Now I have a brand new one.

From having to replace everything after Katrina, I can emphatically say that they do not build them like they used to.
