Yea, and when you die in a fender bender because those cars can't handle impact worth a shite, that decision will have really paid off.

Props on being clueless how occupant safety works.
Which car in these pictures would you rather be in?

As long as the car doesn't have its own cellular or WiFi connection then there is virtually no risk of being hacked.

I've got a car like that. Runs great, use it every day. They're hard to come by though. I'll sell it to you for $15k

Just research any dictators' cars. They are all paranoid and have sweet old cars with zero electronics. Don't forget Hydraulics for the windows!

A lady in a Lexus jumped a curb:
The driver was unhurt, but convicted of DWA.

I saw an early 70's model Mercedes 560sl the other day and it was in pristine condition. It made me want one so bad.

Yeah being wrapped in metal with no airbags is NOT the way to go.

You thinking of the two door vert?

Not really it depends what you get. You get a ford 302 or a Chevy 350 or a Dodge 318 with Carburetion and you can pretty much use universal spark controls, throttles, and fuel pumps. Would be nothing at all to keep it going.
I used to have a 67 Mustang and I could fix any problem it had on the side of the road with a very basic tool set.

My dad had a 1983 300sd. It had power windows, power sunroof. It was a diesel. I loved that car. He got t-boned by some drunk running a red light leaving a casino.

I would kill to have a fraction of the knowledge you and Vette have about stuff like this.

That's actually on my list, I have no idea why.
Last year for them was 1989. No bad habits, other than the Becker radio seems to fail and is expensive to repair.
273 HP, so it's not a burner, but a solid, smooth MB.

I am guessing (hoping) he made out OK.
Those old MB's were pretty stout.

i have several customers that want vehicles that cant be hurt by emp's...so yes there will be a niche demand for keeping unhackable cars rolling

Yeah, he was fine. He was pissed, though. He had just picked it up from New Orleans getting it completely restored. New leather, wood trims, the works.

Dang, that really sucks...
He walked away so that's the main thing.
