I'm still fricking pissed off about seeding Charleston and NO to be paired up so early in the tourney.

I could agree with "mediocre" if compared to San Francisco, NYC, etc. Comparing it to Memphis, which truly has nothing of what Atlanta has to offer, is nuts.

I'd put Atlanta ahead of Houston, a little behind Dallas, ahead of Phoenix, etc.

Buckhead, on Peachtree and Piedmont. It was a nice place, but I don't see much character in the city. I put a lot of stock in that to classify it as a truly great city. I think NOLA, Nashville, Charleston, and Miami are comfortably better than Atlanta in that regard.

I think Atlanta indeed has more to offer simply due to its size, but I think Memphis has a bit more character to it than Atlanta does. I'd probably rather live in Atlanta, but I just find Memphis to be a bit more enduring. Maybe I'm biased as frick for growing up around there, but still.

It's a mixed bag when talking about cities; there are cities in which you want to live, and cities that you love to visit.

I liked Atlanta, and lived in the same area, but it has it's issues. The thing about Atlanta is that it is actually a major city with a lot of different pockets and business opportunity. It is not a great place to tour.

New Orleans is a dump, and it is kind of small, I would never live there, but I like visiting.

Charleston is great, but that isn't a real city.

Miami is a transient service economy. Great to visit, terrible to live.

The area you lived in Atlanta is fairly nice but there isn't a ton of history or culture there. Midtown, West Midtown, Inman Park, Virginia Highland, Morningside, East Atlanta ( ), etc. all have a lot more going on, albeit some with trade offs.

Local restaurant scene is exploding in the Inman Park/West Midtown area. Places like Memphis (or Charlotte and probably Nashville) just aren't in the same universe in that regard.

I like Nashville and I think the quality of life may be better depending on what you're focused on, but Atlanta just has most of most of what Nasvhille has.

I'm a native Atlantan who will be happy to dissect the many, many issues in this city, but it's certainly got a lot going on, as shown by the expansion.

What kind of bullshite bracket puts the 1 vs 2 seed before the regional finals?

I didn't even notice that. Although it'll likely lead to a NYC vs. Chicago matchup for the NE, which is what it should be anyway.

I don't know how people are voting for SLC over Portland... unless it's just for the snow skiing.

Utah is arguably the most beautiful state in the lower 48. SLC has nice, outdoorsy people. It also has tons of problems.

Portland has great arts, food, music, and beer. It also has tons of problems.

Different strokes.
