Exactly.

You can now buy it over the counter, instead of behind the counter

I'd bet alot to money that Maxim out sells playboy today.

If this allows them to put their magazine in convenient stores, etc... It's probably a smart business move

but playboy used to have some really legit writers. I know they had Hunter S Thompson at least.
Off the the top of my head Ray Bradbury, Gore Vidal, and Aldous Huxley wrote for PB. Richard Matheson's story "Duel (later filmed by Spielberg) first appeared in the magazine, as did "The Fly".

And many of the Playboy interviews are classics. The Mel Brooks interviews are some of the funniest things I've ever read.

FYI, it took until c. 1972 to have a fully nude centerfold in Playboy, 15 years after the magazine had been in circulation. And even then, it took another year for the second fully nude centerfold to be published.

Didn't Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) do comics for them?

To all of the people booing this, when was the last time you actually read or even purchased a playboy magazine?

You don't know my life!!

I remember my dad had a subscription for a few years when I was a kid. I remember the first Pam Anderson issue.

I'm not sure

The brilliant Harvey Kurtzman -- founder of Mad -- wrote a comic strip for PB called Little Annie Fanny, that was drawn by great Mad artists like Will Elder and Jack Davis.

What really killed Playboy is not getting top stars to bare all like the olden days.

Doesnt matter, because back then i didnt have a phone that i could see a girl fricking herself with a dildo in her pussy and a finger in her arse. After seductive stripping i could fast forward through if i wanted to see her twat faster.

Thats why it is important for playboy to get a maxim type market, If they want to survive

As part of a redesign that will be unveiled next March, the print edition of Playboy will still feature women in provocative poses. But they will no longer be fully nude.
So we should to start see Playboy at the doctor and dentist office.

Hefner is what killed Playboy. His dumb, incredibly expensive lifestyle has drained everything. The company still has an incredible catalog and the resources to become great again. They could expand their website and crank out really unique content that would rival all of the bigger porn studios. Playboy can straddle a line and pull down of big names to semi-hardcore type of shows (like they have done with Foursome and Swing). It's just a wasted opportunity that they don't take advantage of. Also, they stopped trying to get celebrities that get people interested. There should be somebody in every issue. They don't have to be huge names, just somebody that garners some interest. It's all fallen to shite..

I always liked how they usually are available in airport newstands.

Anyone ever see some guy open up the centerfold and take in a nice gander on a plane?
