I was wondering why when we took a trip to Mandville this weekend, 92.3 turned into country about halfway there.
Is it just country in Nola? I'll have to see if it's that in BR too.

Surprising because it seems like country would be the least popular music there.

92.3 has sucked over the past few years. Got much worse last year, to the point of me not listening anymore.

95.7 has now gone to a national station with one of the Backstreet Boys after 7pm that also blows hard. I don't listen to that anymore because it has a lot of obscure songs I haven't ever heard, just like satellite radio.

93.7 out of Lafayette is actually decent.

97.9 out of Wiggins, MS has been the best rock station around for 15 years, no questions asked.

There are no good rock stations in BR now. 93.7 occasionally gets a good song but its mostly heavy metal type stuff. We now have about 4 country stations and 4 shitty classic rock stations and no good modern rock. It sucks

Can't argue with that, but it's not enough to keep radio from flat out sucking here.

I listened to 92.3 more than any other local station mainly because it wasn't talk in the mornings. I liked the mix of 90s alternative and some of the newer rock. Not all the music was good but you could always change the channel when it was a shitty song

decrease in middle class and the increase in female purchasing power

poor people like poor music (hip/hop + Country)

rock isn't something you can dance to, so women's purchasing power shows better returns on crap music

middle class working guys don't have time for commercials, so they just illegally DL music that they like and put it on shuffle.

92.3 and 98.1 started playing the same music. 92.3 couldnt produce enough new songs to keep me interested
