Saying regentrification is ruining the city...

"The city has become less populous, less black, more white, richer at its historic center and poorer in many surrounding neighborhoods."

The loss of newspaper is apparently ruining the city as well...

Wow!

Gentrification can be good, but not when it's done by a bunch of whiny do-gooder hipsters from the Northeast.

The worst thing to happen to New Orleans was Katrina, it changed the whole fabric of the city.

Sounds like a hit piece on the advocate. How dare a locally owned company buy the Times-Picayune, which was owned by a company out of New York. Lol

New Orleans was majority white in 1970. Has all of it's soul and culture come from the last 50 years?

New Orleans WAS one of the richest cities in the country for most of it's existence.

There’s the real problem the article’s author has.

Gentrification has happened in every city in the history of the world.

Neighborhoods change and evolve. The black neighborhoods weren’t always black, the poor neighborhoods may not always stay poor.

People move in, people move out.

The real point of this whole ridiculous anti-gentrification nonsense is political, purely.

Yeah, it spread all the trash around to the surrounding areas. Westbank has gone downhill since Katrina

It’s become less black?

The times pic building is still up (partially).

This is fake news.

New Orleans isn’t losing its soul. The hipsters throw a second line any time someone who sang a song died.
