Serious question. Considering going and have read here in the past that a lot of restaurants and bars close. I'm aware that the Bayou Classic will be this weekend which is fine by me. I just don't want to go and everything be closed.

Bayou Classic

Draws about half the people it used to. You barely even notice there's anything different going on in town anymore.

I usually go to the free fan fest. But I'll be in Tiger Stadium this year. Sucks for me. I was hoping to catch Big Freida.

Shots will be fired on Bourbon, I guarantee it.
There are two events each year where I absolutely skip the FQ - Bayou Classic and Decadence.

Other than a few places in the quarter you wont notice a thing.

Also, don't go to the Quarter this weekend

Is there a map showing the regions of Nola. Broken up by uptown, mid city, garden district, downtown, warehouse etc?

You may be disappointed in lafittes if you haven't been in a while. It's no longer hole in the wall/neighborhood bar.

The tourists have found it and its turned into a garish karoke bar for old tourists. I was appalled last time I went.

Also, everything is open Wednesday and Friday. Most dining options available Thursday in the FQ as most uptown and Midcity restaurants are closed.

Nopd has gotten better about BC and now light bourbon street with mega lights and have increased patrols, but it's still good to be wary.

Racetrack opens Thursday.
