Bruh. Typical woman. Your logic is lost on her. She probably won't even acknowledge your comment.

So you're saying that a bunch of people who work to better people's health push for a ban on smoking? Shocking, I tell ya.

OK, I had seen things about Bourbon being exempt and interpreted it incorrectly. Bourbon is likely to be exempt from the "5 feet away from entrances" rule.

So, basically, Bourbon Street is going to be loaded with people smoking on the street for a solid 5 or 6 blocks. It's going to be tougher to avoid smokers than it was when some of the bars were smoke free and the smokers were sitting on their barstools.

Wow, that's what you got from that.

Have fun with your smoking "victory" honey because guess what, they make Splenda too and they have just been setting precedent after precedent in city after city that "this is for the public's health". I'm sure the sugar farmers won't mind that will they?

IF you want the true answer behind all of it, don't go touting the false reports about secondhand smoke. Those have already been proven false.

All you need to do to know what is behind it all is look at JNJ's stock prices since the smoking bans have started.

Apparently I was thinking of something else.

Can't wait til they start clearing the street early morning on Ash Wednesday and you see a line of these.

They really haven't.

Also, I really don't want to hear the crap yall spew when you resort to female related name calling. Got it, dude?

You have the opportunity to convince me with the liberty and private property arguments. Not the health ones and not the conspiracy theories.

Now please excuse me while I'm off to continue my studies of public health.

Oh and collecting my check from the Wood Foundation and buying J&J stock. I'm rich, bitch.

why doesn't Nola ban excess serving to bar patrons? that's not healthy, either

why not ban sugary "big gulp" drinks?

Just don't ban wine. That's crossing the line.

What about contact sports? What separates people willingly walking into a smoking bar and people willingly entering a boxing ring/tackle football field?

Is a VERY small (possibly nonexistent) chance at getting cancer from second hand smoke that much worse than a small chance at getting early dementia from head injuries?

I highly doubt it since you weren't in on any of the deals. Your city councilmen/women however....

Who is that you may ask? The namesake is one of the founders of Johnson & Johnson. The Foundation is the single largest shareholder in Johnson & Johnson. It sure is convenient that Johnson & Johnson has a subsidiary company, ALZA. What does ALZA do? Among other things it makes a little product called Nicoderm CQ.

How she concluded that that was part of some kind of conspiracy theory stupefies me.

What if a bar just opened their doors? Would that make it a public space in a private domain?
