If it only takes a few jiggles for the handle of the door to fall off you should probably invest in higher quality home security.

Fix the door with a sliding lock she can't get through. Sounds like she may be suffering from dementia such as Alzheimer's.

Also, I would throw out that the neighbor/situation violates the Implied Warranty of Habitability. Write a letter to your landlord (notarized, sent first class, and make copies), and send it to them asking for a resolution. Do it again after a week. Then write an ultimatum letter, and threaten that you will be of the understanding that if there is no resolution, the terms of the agreement/lease are violated, and that you will be moving out. When said ultimatum is not met, send a final letter listing all grievances, the lack of response, and your move out date. Once again, notarize, sign, first class, etc. If they wish to charge you for breaking lease, let them know that all communications must be made between them and your attorney. Give them your attorneys contact info, etc. Also, send a follow up letter requesting your deposit back.

i'm aware. never said he should have shot anyone. just that if you think someone is breaking in, you'll opt for your gun instead of your bat.

Option 1) Buy a new/better clock for the door that doesnt come off so easily. Maybe even purchase a chain lock as well.
Option 2) Move
Option 3) Next time this happens call the cops & the landlord

Move and then move again so she can't find you. No rental property is worth the potential that can go wrong in this situation.

sounds like you shouldn't live in the hood. Also next time call the cops since you don't have a gun, they will shoot the mental patient for you

She jiggled your doorknob? There's a fix for that.

Pics of neighbor?

Sometimes having a crazy bitch live next door is not a bad thing. Take advantage of the situation.

I think you should get the landlord to find you a new neighbor. I know a few people who would jump on that in a heartbeat.

I am renting month to month, I really don't want to have to move. I'd rather the landlord move the psycho.

On another note, does anyone know if text messages would be considered okay for court if this comes to it? I don't have the landlords email, trying to find her business card.
