If I were that teacher, I would have probably been fired. There is no way that I'm letting a high school punk do that to me. That's probably why I'm not a teacher.

Yes they can. Can also be placed in a alternative educational environment. Now whether the administrators will force the issue is another topic.

Alternative educational environments usually refer to one on one oversight with the student (for liability purposes). Needless to say, this can be quite expensive and it usually means nothing more than baby sitting until that student quits. I know of a student that required THREE adults present as she is considered to be a danger to the rest of the student population. As for alternative schools, those went by the wayside with school performance scores. I say fill alternative schools to the max allowed by the fire Marshall and then let the state take over those schools. Then the other 32 students in the class may actually have a chance to learn something. Just my thoughts though.

You say that sarcastically and there's no excuse for what he did and he should be punished, but even in sarcasm, it's actually true.

A lot of these kids never have a shot in life at all based on their upbringing. Again, it's unfortunate, but they still need to pay for their wrongdoings like anyone else.

I have no doubt that the teacher could have done more and chose his job over reacting with force. It sucks to think a person can't defend themselves while under attack. That teacher is a better man than me because I am not sure the outcome would have been the same.

Technically speaking, of course you are correct.

But imagine the kids with 1 parent, a crackhead mother who doesn't give a shite about them. They live in the ghetto with no positive role models to steer them in the right direction.

How do you expect a 5 year, 8 year old, 10 year old to understand the importance of that free education and how it will benefit them when their 25 years old?


I feel like I need to preface every post I make by saying you still need to pay the full penalty for any wrongdoings, as that's gonna get lost on my opinions real quick, I feel.
