I work in film and I agree with what you did, except you shouldn't have given in and left. It's part of my job to ask people not to take pictures while we're shooting and whatnot, and I'd never be rude because in the end, I can't legally prevent you from taking pics on a public street, and we're just making a fricking movie. I ask politely and if someone doesn't want to, I tell production the person is not going to stop and there's nothing more I can do about it.

I would have taken photos of the security people and posted them. They're instructed to tell you not to take photos but they're also supposed to know that they can't actually stop you.

Same thing happened to me last weekend. Except this was Queen Latifah filming. I just walked two feet away from "security" and took my picture. Then went about my business. It was only Queen Latifah, nothing special
