My question was a rhetorical retort to CAD's statement about the driver "not having a valid excuse" for being in the park himself.

question was posed why was the driver traveling through a national park at 10 am on a saturday...well maybe for the same reason the cyclist was but without the dangers of being hit by a vehicle. Since when is travelling by vehicle considered out of the ordinary

ETA: nevermind its been cleared up

They will testify in court.

why the hurry? You go to enjoy the park on a Saturday morning why do you feel the need to run over cyclists doing the same? Hmm?

do you typically follow that up with assault with a deadly weapon?

I guess you are not going to offer any proof that he went to the park to run over a loser on a bike.

So, he planned it, right? Probably had a list of what type of bike and what color kit a rider was wearing that he wanted to hit.

I'm not defending his actions, but your posts seem to be awfully close to insinuating that motorists should not even be allowed in the park.

If that puts him away for 37 years, we should ban bikes immediately.

I get what you are saying about 37 years because it sounds pretty excessive here, but they are throwing the book at him because of the other stupid shite he did after.

assault with a deadly weapon, providing a false statement to a federal agent and destruction of evidence.

One guy engaged in a perfectly legal activity. Other guy assaulted with a deadly weapon, fled the crime scene, lied to the feds and destroyed evidence and you're taking that guys side.

Never change OT.

BTW the cyclists I'm talking about are retired pillars of the community, doctors, lawyers and a real estate Mogul.

So yes, their word will count for something.
