Burning though 15,000 gallons of liquid hydrogen per minute.

A lot.

There isn't enough storage in the tank on the stand so they pump the hydrogen over as needed during the test.

They can replenish the stand tank fast enough to keep up with the burn rate?

Don't really see how posting a Challenger gif is a clever troll job.

It wasn't clever at all. This is a textbook example of the difference a masterful troll like LucasP and someone who is just childish.

Yes, the LH is barged in and the barges themselves actually serve as the "stand tanks" for the duration of the test.

Watched it on the Stennis facebook. That was great. Remember seeing a couple when I was a kid.

How much notice does Stennis give out? I know after 9/11 they stopped putting the schedule out but I'm sure they've loosened up on that. I live about 40 minutes west of there and my son would LOVE to see one of these in person. Even just a few hours notice would suffice during the summertime.

Keep us updated NASA Tiger.

I did some engineering work on one of the test stands when they were refitting them for the new rocket engines. I just tried to find some of the drawings. Some bastard deleted them!

I have a short 30 sec video that is processing on FB.

It was loud as frick even with ear plugs. Imagine the SLS at launch would burst ear drums at takeoff if we were at the same distance away.

Tests will be known about ~3 weeks about and the actual date during the scheduled week. This was originally scheduled for 3/24 and it was bumped up 24 hours on Monday.
