Many police departments and officers do not carry Tasers. I have even seen small departments that had no Tasers or OC spray. What if the officer is 5'5 and the subject is 6'5 and 260? Every situation is unique and most of the reactionaries here don't seem capable of taking that into consideration. I am not saying this shooting was justified as I know nothing about the case but I am saying that it is not logical to jump to conclusions.

That would certainly open a can of worms. What about women? It is already hard enough for most departments to find qualified candidates and you want to add another qualifier?

So are you suggesting the DA did not present all of the states evidence and misrepresented the information involved in the case? If that is accurate I would say there is a much bigger problem in that county thn this officer.

I'm saying there are two sides to every story, and two ways of looking at evidence. The DA has one side, and that's all the GJ got to see.

It was iirc lsd and there is video. They want to move it because they were about to lose via summary judgement. They will lose,at the fed level too.

I find it funny how if this situation went something like this everyone here would be saying the shooting was justified:
"Naked man shot and killed by a homeowner. The homeowner said the man was naked and banging on a window, and when he went outside to investigate the sound, the naked man lunged at him"
