Good to hear. This is rare.

not really. If they take pre trial diversion in LA it's pretty standard with sentencing.

3 guys I went to high school with (that I know of) were convicted of DUI's from 2002-2008. 2 got off on technicalities, the other did not. I know for a fact he does not drink and drive anymore, I can almost guarantee the other 2 do.

I do love anecdotal stories...

But I am a statistician. When you say 300 will die in DUI crashes in South Carolina, with a population of 4.8 million....it doesnt even rise to the level of concern on a meta scale.

If you thought that DUI checkpoint was bad, you'd lose your mind if you ever got on a motorcycle and encountered a "safety" checkpoint outside the entrance to a C.O.C. Meeting.

That's fine. I am in the business of making the roads safer.

We had 1100 fatalities last year on our roads. DUI made up 30% of them. I guess 1100 isn't a concern either, we don't even need to look at traffic safety statistics.

Good. I hope you do a great job within the bounds of the Constitution and civil liberty protection for ALL.

Really? Or is like MADD that even a 0.05 BAC qualifies in inflating that percentage?

Look, it's personal to you. I get that, but the argument needs to be more than just I feel this way, so you lose rights.

I was expecting an actual story worth reading. How awful that he read the date wrong and u were let go. I bet you were so embarrassed!!

Did you honestly think that was worth starting a thread over and to bitch about pretty much nothing happening?

Because there's really only time for quality, substantive threads like "Meteor over Loch Ness," and "Man was born without a cerebellum, leads a somewhat normal ife" and "LUNCH" on the OT, right?

I didn't know I was here merely to amuse you. To entertain you. You missed the point entirely. It wasn't just the rudeness, but the taxpayer collection aspect, the unconstitutional stop. Your trolling for OT rating of skanks is far more informative. Carry on.

I've lived in Lakeview for 3 years and never seen them setup right there. Seems like complete BS with all the real problems going on in Nola. One would assume that once you've made it all the way off West End you can safely make it home. Just your good ole money grab from the wealthy whites, nothing to see here.

You can blame MADD for the DUI hysteria caused over the last 35 years.

I actually had a State Trooper tell my inspection was expired. My inspection sticker expires in June. It was June. He starts writing the ticket so I called over another trooper and mentioned that hisfellow trooper seemed to be confused. After trooper # 2 got involved, he pointed out that June is actually the 6th month not the 7 month like thought.
The trooper # 1 really actually counted it out with his fingers. They said I could go but told me not to say anything to anybody.
He seemed like a decent guy but I really think he was borderline illiterate.
This happened within the last two years....very sad !
