Honestly it's because Obama, had Alaska just voted it in, or The Department of interior did it, there would be no worries from anyone not in Ohio. Since Obama has his name attached it means it is bad, evil and Communist.

I'm sure the Klickitat Indians would like Mt Adams to be named Klickitat since its the name of their tribe and all.

It's so predictable. And hilarious.

it was the entire state of Alaska which has been asking for this for 40 years.

So we're supposed to kowtow to a state every time they ask for something for forty years?

Why don't you just dig up president McKinley (and every other American hero) and just piss on their faces?

What I find funny is that now heritage is not important to people bitching about this.

Looks like the Pres is doing a survival show with Bear Grylls out of Seward on his 3 day trip here this week.

Everything is political. The timing of everything is political. No reason for people to get all bent out of shape over it.

Yep, just the president and Bear Grils, as well as the personal chefs, the two sound guys, three camera men, a tour guide and secret service.

Crazy for him to do that show. I wonder if bear will make him pee on a mouse and then eat it like he did to Michelle Rodriguez.

He did get us Hawaii, and win the Spanish American war and got us some island territories.
His biggest legacy was trying to stymie the career of Theodore Roosevelt by sticking him in as a vice president only to be assassinated and replaced by a 42 year old Roosevelt.

Not a bad president, not a great president.

Not sure. I imagine it will be a token appearance.

He'll spend much of his time in the native villages of Western and Northern Ak. They're proposing to move a few villages due to eroding coastline. We normally get ignored in the SE part of the State.

He was great enough to get a mountain named after him. I'd call that pretty great. How many "Napoleon mountains" do you see on your globe?

Greatest American president/hero, and it's not even close.

Dude Get out of here with that. I crossed the Alps, the f'ing Alps. Plus Europe is so old but the time I seized power after the revolution the mountains already had their names for nearly a millenia.

Though to answer your question, the great territory of Colorado has a mountain named for me.

Where is the great portrait of Mckinley? huh? Silly Ohioans the only thing to come out of that landmass was the witchcraft of flight.

You also happen to have a complex named out of you from which many cops I have met suffer.

Never heard of McKinley Complex, unless someone is referring to "Awesome"
